Additionally, The B Street building has community spaces that are available to anyone from the Toronto arts scene.

The Jon Kaplan Community Lounge

Come share in conversation and collaboration in The Jon Kaplan Community Lounge. This lounge is open to anyone and everyone from the Toronto Arts Community to come, plug-in, make a pot of coffee and create. The amenities of The Jon Kaplan Community Lounge include a large comfy sectional, armchairs, a laptop counter for easy working, atmospheric music, and great people.

The Jon Kaplan Community Lounge features the Jon Kaplan Community Library. This library includes a floor-to-ceiling bookcase that holds Jon Kaplan’s personal collection of plays, scripts, and scores. The Community Library’s many works can be photocopied for free in the lounge, to be enjoyed outside of B Street, or take advantage of the Lending Library.

The Lending Library. It’s free and it’s easy! Take a photo of the book you wish to borrow, send it to katieg@tapa.ca. Return it in 30 days, and choose another play to take home. Boom!

B Street Phone Booths

The B Street phone booths are self-contained, meeting rooms for TAPA members and non-members alike. These two private, sound-proof rooms at the front of the building are perfect for your next virtual meeting or phone call. Free wifi is included. TAPA Members can secure their spot by booking in advance by clicking the button below. Non-TAPA members can use the phone booths on a first come, first serve basis.

Boardroom

This centrally located and rentable boardroom is right in the heart of the annex, on the street-level of the B Street building. The room, complete with 50″ smart screen with Reactiv Suite/Newline software and Innex Cube AI camera, is a hybrid meeting’s best friend.

  • Utilize the Innex Cube AI camera to individually capture each team member’s face, eliminating the need for laptop cameras.
  • Screen share documents, and take notes on the board itself using the newline meeting apps.
  • Block out the world with the sound-baffling paneling on the east and west walls of the room, and shut out the building traffic with retractable sound-proof curtains.

TAPA Members can book the boardroom by clicking the button below. Non-TAPA members can email the Operations Manager to inquire about booking the room.
