Our goal is to eliminate cost barriers for our artists to use these high-level creation spaces. To maintain accessible rates, our studio is completely self-serve/DIY. This DIY self-tape room is the perfect playground to get a killer take. Bring a reader and bring your device, or utilize our state-of-the-art filming camera and teleprompter, and nail your self-tape every time in the B Street Self-Tape Studio.
Utilise the SONY Alpha A6-100 Camera with Rode Mic to get the highest quality video, or simply plug in your smartphone to the smartphone MOVO mic and Ring Light and begin your take. When you’ve finished shooting, use the provided laptop with WeTransfer to receive your files instantly.

Book the Self-Tape Studio
For EVERY B Street Booking, The Renter agrees to: MAINTAIN – Keep spaces clean and accessible for the duration of the rental as per Appendix B. RESPECT – B Street is for everyone. Be kind and respectful to fellow renters. Please do your part by being mindful of sound while entering common spaces like hallways or washrooms, and not entering spaces that are not a part of your booking. PRESERVE – Protect the creative space in question, so it can be used by the arts community for many years to come. Leave the space as clean and as organized as you found it. The Renter agrees to use a specific, confidential code to gain access to the building. The Renter agrees not to share this code with parties other than the individuals included in this booking. YOUR UNIQUE DOOR CODE WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU BY THE TAPA OPERATIONS MANAGER UPON CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
Door code during business hours:
The 5-digit code is used to unlock the Stage Door (at the rear of the building) and to enter designated studio spaces. The Renter’s door code will become active at the beginning of your rental period. The Renter will not attempt to use the door code on spaces that are excluded from their rental, as the code is only functional for the rental space allocated to that renter. The Door Code will expire 30 minutes after your rental period ends.
Exiting: When vacating B Street at the end of the rental window, the Renter is responsible for
ensuring the Stage Door is closed securely.If your garbage/recycling is full, please tie the bags and leave on the inside of Stage Door.
Door code outside of business hours: The Renter’s 5-digit code is used to unlock the Stage Door (at the rear of the building) and to enter designated studio spaces. The door code will become active at the beginning of the rental period. Do not attempt to use the door code on spaces that are excluded from your rental, as the code is only functional for your rental space. Your unique Door Code will expire 30 minutes after your rental period ends.
Exiting: If your garbage/recycling is full, renter must place bag(s) in the appropriate bin located outside in the parking lot, adjacent to the Stage Door. When vacating B Street at the end of the rental window, the Renter is responsible for: Shutting all lights off, Unplugging kettle and coffee maker, Closing both doors to The Rehearsal Space. NOTE: The Stage Door is the only door that The Renter has access to use. If the door facing Bathurst St, ie. The Front Door, is used after 8 PM, an alarm will be activated. The Renter agrees to pay a fine of $500 should this alarm be activated.
ORIENTATION: The Renter agrees to allocate and confirm a brief 15-minute orientation phone call, 3 business days in advance of the rental date, that will include wifi usage, and any tech in the space.
