Casting for “Honey Never Spoils” a production premiering at the 2025 Toronto Fringe  Festival at the Tarragon Theatre Extra Space, running from July 2nd- July 13th

SYNOPSIS:

When a team of podcasters set out to investigate the decades-old disappearance of a childhood friend, they quickly discover that revisiting the past comes with consequences. As secrets unravel and loyalties fracture, Honey Never Spoils explores the blurred lines between truth and exploitation in the age of true crime obsession.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

All ethnicities are encouraged to submit

Brooke (late 20s–early 30s): Driven, tightly wound, and the unofficial leader of the podcast. She’s passionate about the truth but blind to her own biases. She was very close to Honey before her disappearance.

Victoria (late 20s–early 30s): Guarded, observant, and emotionally complex. A childhood friend of Honey’s who’s hiding more than she lets on. Her past with Honey is deeper than she admits

Sarah (late 20s–early 30s): Ambitious and cunning. The one who pushes the team toward digging deeper, even if it means crossing ethical lines. Has her own agenda

Evan (late 20s–early 30s): The podcast’s editor. They didn’t grow up with the others, bringing an outsider’s perspective.  Level-headed, dry sense of humour, a skeptic who becomes increasingly invested

AUDITION DETAILS:

Audition Dates: Friday, April 25th: 3pm – 9pm & Saturday, April 26th: 12pm – 7pm

Location: Auditions will be held at The Bridge. Located at 379 Adelaide St. W., 4th floor, Toronto, ON

Audition Requirements: Please prepare a contemporary monologue (2 minutes max) Sides will be provided at the audition. Please also bring a headshot and resume to the audition

Rehearsals start at the beginning of May. We will have a minimum of three rehearsals per week. Ranging from 4-6 hours for each

Performance Dates: Dates are TBD, but the Festival runs from July 2nd-July13th. There will be a total of 7 performances. Performers MUST be available for the tech date, which is TBD. But it is during the week of June 25, 2025 to July 2, 2025

Compensation: This production will be based on profit share. Compensation will be provided after the festival
