WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The Walking Griot is seeking non-union dynamic Caribbean/Black actors who ideally have some familiarity with Caribbean folklore and/or culture. Must be comfortable with some singing and movement.
COMPENSATION
$1000 flat fee
CHARACTER ROLES to be filled:
- LULU (F, 10-12 yrs) – A fiery young girl who’s not afraid of speaking her mind and tackling any challenge that comes her way. She cares a lot for her grandmother who raised her and has a strained relationship with her father following her mother’s passing.
- ANANSI (M, Ageless) – A slippery-tongued trickster who does whatever he needs to get his way. Trails of trickery catch up with him on a daily basis.
- The actor in this role will also play Mosquito, Jab Jab and a Jumbie
- DOCTOR BIRD (Ageless) – Mythical character who presents as a well spoken slick figure dressed in a gentleman’s hat and a dapper suit with a hibiscus flower as a pocket square.
