Production Assistant
- Anticipated start date: May 12th, 2025
- Number of weeks: 8 weeks
- Number of hours per week: 35
- Hourly wage: $18.50
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Production Assistant will work remotely in our virtual office and reports to the General Manager. This role will be hybrid with work in-person and virtually. They will work closely with the Project Manager and our community partners. The Production Assistant’s primary role is to assist in the administration and logistical development of three main projects for the 2025/26 seasons including, “Harvest Justice” our Forum Theatre play about Migrant Workers, “I Carry With Me” our community tour exploring race and privilege, and “Aging With Pride” our workshop development series focused on Queer seniors. The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and General Manager in the research, planning, development and organization of these projects.
Tasks will include:
- Attending meetings with the staff team as well as our partner organizations and taking notes
- Researching partners
- Analyzing research and making recommendations to the Project Manager and General Manager
- Assisting with the organization and administration of workshops and events
- Sending invitations to community partners and stakeholders to any events
- Collaborating with the Project Manager on project specific communications and outreach
- Researching funding opportunities and sponsorships to support these projects
- Researching community groups and venues for community tours
- Assisting with audience development
- Outreach to community partners and venues
The Production Assistant may be assigned other tasks as required and will have opportunities to develop new skills in a collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and be a self-starter. Though virtual, our working environment is collaborative, and we encourage applicants sharing ideas, being curious and participating in meetings and projects.
Eligibility
This role is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program and the candidate must be between the ages of 21 and 30, a permanent resident or Canadian citizen and have a valid SIN.

Arts Administrator

Tasks and Responsibilities
As a remote position applicants from rural areas and applicants who experience barriers to in-person work are encouraged to apply.
The Arts Administrator will report to the General Manager. They will work closely with the Project Manager to support our work as a community-engaged Forum Theatre company. MCT’s 2025 projects include working with newcomer youth, migrant workers and healthcare providers. The Arts Administrator will play a key role in our operations and supporting MCT’s success in empowering equity-deserving groups through Forum Theatre.
The Arts Administrator is responsible for maintaining the primary company email, supporting promotion and outreach efforts, grant and funder research, managing a CRM (client relationship management tool) and building the CRM database, organizing our digital archive and digitally filing documents.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and be a self-starter. Though virtual, our working environment is collaborative, and we encourage applicants sharing ideas, being curious and participating in meetings and projects.
Tasks will include:
- Managing incoming communications primarily via email
- Forwarding emails to the appropriate staff members
- Developing and implementing a folder system for the main company email
- Data entry into the CRM system
- Maintaining the CRM
- Digital filing, re-naming and re-organization of the shared drives and internal archive
- Digital archive maintenance
- Assist in grant and funding research
- Assisting with the development of promotional materials
The Arts Administrator may be assigned other administrative tasks as required.
