Hours per Week: 40 Wage: $19.50/hour

Theatre by the Bay is hiring an Artistic Associate (Stage Producer) to support the
2025 Barrie Theatre Festival and the Producer’s Mentorship Program. This role offers hands-on experience in production management and arts administration during our exciting summer season.

Reporting to the Managing and Associate Producer, the Artistic Associate will work closely with artists, designers, and staff to coordinate key aspects of festival planning and execution. If you’re passionate about the performing arts and eager to grow your production and administrative skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with production schedules and administrative planning
  • Help facilitate auditions and contract artists/designers
  • Coordinate artist hospitality and production meetings
  • Support rehearsals and technical preparations
  • Track expenses and submit weekly reporting for board oversight

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or graduate of a post-secondary theatre program, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in theatre production, administration, or stage management
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Zoom
  • Familiarity with the Canadian theatre and arts sector

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years old (as per Canada Summer Jobs grant requirements)
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with valid

Assets (Not Required): • First Aid/CPR certification • Valid driver’s licence
