Call for Submissions: Theatre by the Bay’s 2025 Producers Mentorship Program Presented by Angela Baldwin

Are you ready to take the next step in your producing career? Theatre by the Bay is now accepting submissions for our 2025 Producers Mentorship Program—a unique opportunity for emerging and early-career producers to gain hands-on experience in professional theatre production.

Running alongside our flagship Barrie Theatre Festival, this program offers one-on-one mentorship with industry leaders, real-time production experience, and the chance to bring new stories to life on a professional stage.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking passionate, organized, and collaborative individuals who are eager to deepen their producing knowledge in a real-world festival environment. Ideal candidates are:

• Early-career or emerging producers with some experience in live performance • Based in or have a strong connection to Central Ontario
• Committed to equity, inclusion, and community-engaged storytelling
• Available from June through August 2025

What You’ll Gain:

• A tailored mentorship with Theatre by the Bay’s producing team
• Professional producing experience during the Barrie Theatre Festival
• A stipend for participation
• Networking opportunities with artists, sponsors, and stakeholders
• Insight into grant writing, budgeting, scheduling, and festival operations

1. A short letter (max 1 page) introducing yourself and your interest in the program
2. Your CV or resume
3. (Optional) A brief outline of a project you’d like to produce in the future

This mentorship reflects Theatre by the Bay’s commitment to fostering local talent and building the next generation of cultural leaders. We encourage applications from individuals who identify as IBPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, d/Deaf and disabled, or who come from equity-seeking communities.
