Development Manager

TO Live has a full-time opportunity in its Development Department. We are looking for an experienced Development Manager to support the growth of TO Live’s fundraising efforts.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Leadership Giving, this position will be responsible for developing and managing TO Live’s annual giving programs, donor engagement initiatives, and annual fundraising campaigns to grow TO Live’s base of individual donors.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Annual Giving & Donor Engagement
- Develop and implement annual giving strategies, including direct mail, online campaigns, and monthly giving programs.
- Oversee donor engagement initiatives, including employee giving campaigns, TO Live’s Champions program, and mid-level giving strategies.
- Create and execute campaigns that enhance donor retention, acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate with Leadership to integrate annual giving efforts with major gifts and planned giving strategies.
Fundraising Campaigns & Revenue Development
- Lead the execution of multi-channel annual giving campaigns.
- Monitor and manage relationships with vendors, including direct mail agencies, and digital fundraising agencies, designers etc.
- Analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities for growth in giving programs.
- Develop and manage annual giving budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Track and report on campaign performance, donor retention, and revenue goals.
Donor Stewardship & Communications
- Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship strategies for annual giving donors.
- Ensure timely and personalized acknowledgment of gifts through various channels.
- Create compelling donor communications that highlight the impact of giving and encourage continued support.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance donor experience and loyalty.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, opening receptions, and dinners.
- Oversee execution of monthly donor newsletter.
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide leadership to support annual giving efforts, ensuring best practices in donor engagement.
- Work collaboratively across departments to foster a culture of philanthropy.
- Support the department’s strategic planning efforts to enhance annual giving and donor retention.
- Assist in planning and executing special events, opening receptions, and dinners.
Administration
- Oversee data entry and gift administration in database, including updating records, donor history, gift processing, prospect research, event attendance, and gift receipting.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned and actively participate as a broader TO Live team member.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3–5 years of fundraising experience, with a focus on annual giving and direct response programs.
- Demonstrated success in donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies.
- Experience managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and monthly giving.
- Proficiency in donor database systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge an asset).
- Strong analytical skills to assess campaign performance and donor trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets and revenue forecasts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across teams.
- Previous experience in arts and culture fundraising is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Flexibility in hours and schedules and include work on nights and weekends as required.
- Lack of natural light in workplace.
- Travel between TO Live venues as required.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000
