Winnipeg born; lived in Toronto since 1973, all but the first year in the same apartment. B.A. 1969, University of Winnipeg; M.L.S. 1972, University of Western Ontario (masters’ thesis on performing arts libraries). Theatre-goer since childhood. Volunteer for about a dozen not-for-profit theatre companies and festivals since 1989. Dora Juror, Independent Theatre Division, 2000-2001; 2012-2013; 2018-2019. Harold Award, House of Darren O’Donnell, 2002. First recipient eponymous “Barbara Fingerote Volunteer Award”, 2012. Awarded Honorary Member, Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, 2016.
