Carrie Sager founded FLIP PUBLICITY in 1991 and built it into Toronto’s premiere performing arts communications agency. Initially focused on Toronto’s thriving theatre scene, FLIP become an indispensable partner of the entire arts community contributing to the development of generations of creators, makers, and storytellers.
Carrie has served on the boards of Mammalian Diving Reflex, Theatrefront, and AFC, and sat on TAPA’s Media Committee, Commercial Theatre Development Fund, and Dora Jury. She has guest lectured to hundreds of post-secondary students at colleges and universities across Toronto, and helped launch the Mary Jolliffe Award for Senior Arts Administrators and the Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund. Carrie was honoured for her contributions to Toronto theatre with a Harold Award in 2002, and on FLIP’s 20th anniversary, in 2011, the University of Guelph added over 100 boxes of FLIP’s show files to their LW Conolly Theatre Archives. On the closing of FLIP, NOW Magazine wrote about Carrie’s impact on the Toronto arts community proclaiming “Essentially, if you’ve ever attended a live show in Toronto, you probably heard about it thanks to FLIP.”
