David G Wallett born September 5th.1939 in London, England, died February 9 th, 2024 at home in Toronto, Canada. David was born at the beginning of W W II and spent his early years enduring the German blitz of London. Graduating at a young age from drama school and after fulfilling his conscripted national service year he emigrated to Canada and embarked on his lifelong career and passion in the theatre which included lighting designer, technical director. Production manager, director, actor, consultant, teacher. and General Manager of the Toronto St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts. His work included commercial productions of large scale corporate events, cabaret, musical dinner theatre and the Okeefe Centre production of Anne of Green Gables as well as regional theatre at Theatre London, the Neptune Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick and the National Arts Centre . His contributions were significant in the development of national theatre in Canada.
David had an eclectic variety of interests. He enjoyed playing golf, darts, chess, jazz clarinet and cheering on and critiquing his beloved Tottenham Hotspurs soccer team. A good book was never far away.
