Emily Cheung is an Artistic Director of Little Pear Garden Dance Company in Toronto for 15 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance (B.F.A.), Master in Dance (M.A.) and Bachelor of Education in Dance (B.Ed) at York University. She has been constantly invited to give academic talks and workshops to elementary, high school and university students. She grew up with R.A.D. ballet training and was invited a scholarship to study ballet in London, England. She has been constantly invited to give academic talks and workshops to elementary, high school and university students. In 2001, York University awarded her a scholarship to complete her Masters of Arts. She has been constantly invited to give academic talks and workshops to elementary, high school and university students. Ms. Cheung has performed in many countries including the UK, USA, China and India. In May 2017, she received an award for Canada 150 being recognized as one of the 15 candidates in ‘Voices of Chinese Canadian Women for her contributions to building a strong community.’ Ms Cheung is the finalist of the Murreal Sherrin Award in 2021. Her choreographic works include, Phantom Rose (2007), The Tale of a Painter and Goddesses(2017), Feng(breeze)(2009), Venom of Love(2016), Matthew’s Blue(2022), The Legend of Chang’e, Immortal Goddess of the Moon(2021) and etc.,
