Janet successfully taught Drama for the Toronto District and legacy Scarborough Boards of Education for almost 34 years. She retired from her position of Curriculum Leader of the Arts at the renowned Claude Watson Art Program at Earl Haig in 2012. Since then, she’s remained active and engaged in the theatre community working as a freelance director, playwright, adjudicator (NTS and Theatre Ontario Festivals) and a dramaturge (CSARN). She was part of the original 2012 cast of the Fringe and Nuit Blanche immersive event ZED.TO. Recent directorial credits include The Penelopiad, Antigone and Love and Other Major Organs. In 2018, Janet’s dark clown play The Kiss was produced by the juried Newmarket National Play Festival where it placed second in their playwriting competition. Janet has always been a strong advocate for new Canadian theatre and holds a special affinity for emerging artists and independent companies. She is a strong supporter of the Toronto Fringe and SummerWorks Festivals.
