Joanna Lambert is an arts educator with two decades of experience in classroom teaching, leadership and directing. She has developed and taught countless lessons in all areas of the English and Drama secondary curriculum such as improv, scene study, collective creation, mask work, monologues and playwriting. During her career with the YRDSB, she ran auditions for a competitive arts program and coached a team of students at the Canadian Improv games. They didn’t win, but they sure had fun. Joanna has also directed many full length shows with casts of over 20 students, and has produced multiple One Act play festivals. Joanna was also an educator at YRDSB Arts Camp where she developed and taught arts and wellness based programs. Most recently, Joanna directed and produced an immersive theatre experience in Israel to a sold out audience! Prior to her career as a classroom teacher, Joanna studied Speech and Drama with the Trinity College of London, participated in many competitions for poetry recitation and monologue performance and earned her Associate diploma (ATCL) with the college. She is also the co-founder of the Salty Sage Sisters, a company who runs artistic-based wellness workshops for women in the GTA. Joanna is a committed and passionate arts educator and director who strongly believes that students need opportunities in the arts as a crucial part of their development and growth. She brings a wealth of expertise in directing and working with students.
