For more than 35 years, Julian has worked in the performing arts in both Britain and Canada. His portfolio of work covers touring, permanent venues, festivals to major institutions and even being under canvas with circus performers. He has enjoyed working with architects on designing new theatres and concert halls including the highly regarded Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto – the performance home of Canadian Opera Company and National Ballet of Canada. For six years, he was the Programme Manager of Special Events for the City of Toronto including producing Nuit Blanche, before moving west in 2015. After nearly two years working for Banff Centre as Executive Director of Performing Arts, Julian returned to this city to lead the start-up of The Bentway Conservancy. Since May 2019, he has been freelance – working on a number of theatre shows and upcoming visual art installations.
