Linda Barnett has been involved in the performing arts community of Toronto for over 35 years. Having grown up in a family of actors and musicians, she chose to pursue a career in the arts as well but her talents were more on the business side. While taking her MBA in Arts and Media Administration, she had her first professional encounter with the Canadian Opera Company as an intern in the Marketing Department and returned some years later as the Director of Marketing. Her subsequent consulting practice introduced her to a wide-ranging group of theatre, dance, music, and opera-producing clients; visual art, museum and service organizations.
Over the years, Linda has sat on Ontario Arts Council Music and Theatre operating and project grant panels, and CCA Flying Squad panels. As a volunteer, she has served on a variety of boards and committees including the Boards of Directors of TAPA (2005-11) and Studio 180 Theatre (2012-18). She has been singing in Toronto choirs for the last 10 years – Newchoir and more recently AltVox. Linda lives in Toronto, is married to a retired music teacher and has three adult children.
