Natasha Fransblow is a sought-after pianist and multidisciplinary creative artist. As an opera collaborative pianist and music director*, educator, choral singer, and web developer, she thrives in supporting projects that challenge the status quo and foster impactful community engagement.
Natasha has worked with several of Canada’s leading independent opera companies as a repetiteur and music director(*): Opera Revue, Tapestry Opera, Musique 3 Femmes, Loose Tea Music Theatre, Abridged Opera, Opera Muskoka, Opera by Request*, Halifax Summer Opera Festival, Toronto Operetta Theatre*, Summer Opera Lyric Theatre*, MYOpera*. She was a founding member of Whose Opera Is It, Anyway?* (2017-2019), an innovative comedy/opera company hybrid that performed monthly as Canada’s first ensemble of its kind. Beyond opera, she has collaborated in-studio with experimental electronic artist SlowPitchSound and Juno-Award winning progressive metal band Protest The Hero, showcasing her versatility across genres.
A passionate piano coach and teacher, Natasha takes a holistic approach to music education. With over 20 years of teaching and adjudication experience across Canada, she founded PianoMind in 2022 – A piano studio and community for mature non-professionals, supporting advanced players in their practice and performance with a focus on creativity, authenticity, and connection in daily music making. As the co-founder of DUOver alongside mezzo-soprano Jennifer Routhier, Natasha continues to champion projects that challenge conventions and resonate deeply with communities through multidisciplinary and cross-genre collaboration.
Natasha is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Masters of Music in collaborative piano performance, and Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance.
