Toronto-born multi-talent Nawa Nicole Simon has a passion for performing and creative community participation, which began as a teen participant in the local Fresh Arts program.

She attended Humber College’s Theatre Performance Program, and after appearing in her graduating class-production at Summerworks, graced Hart House in the title role of Eric Rose’s production of Angelique.

Her stage roles include her Dora nominated role as Lola in the Dora winning play Gas Girls. Nawa played Uma in New Harlem’s production of The First Stone in Toronto and most recently took the lead role as Girl in the remount on Ottawa at the Great Canadian Theatre Company.

Nawa is also an accomplished dancer, choreographer and movement director too via her involvement with Afro Caribbean Dance Group, Groupe Des Arts Bassen and most recently Tarragon Theatre (A Poem For Rabia).

Nawa’s film and television work include the Award winning Ruby Skye P.I. in which Nawa won Outstanding Supporting Actress – Interactive Narrative Comedy for her role as Mr. Springer. Her other film credits include The Stilwell Project (Bottle Cap Productions Inc.), We Ate the Children Last (Film Forge Production Inc.), Nursing Communication Project (Look Ma Media Inc.), Body Language (Nu Picture Inc.), Forensic Factor (Discovery Channel), Passion (Pug Enterprises Inc.), and Vente (Tall Drink Productions) Steadfast: The messenger and the message where she plays yonge Jean Augustine and most recently playing Eli in Roseneath Theatres ‘Taking Care of Maman’ directed by Djennie Laguerre.
