Nicholas Eddie is a performer and theatre creator currently residing in Toronto. Productions that Nicholas has been involved in have been nominated for a total of 12 Dora Awards since 2020, and he is the proud recipient of 2 Doras for his contributions to Bad New Days’ Italian Mime Suicide. Most recently, Nicholas received accolades for his one person show ONE NIGHT ONLY, a play about a mental health crisis which toured to 7 Fringe Festivals across Canada; it was nominated for a My Entertainment World Award, a Frankie Award, and won the Patron’s Pick award at the Toronto Fringe. Nicholas believes strongly in the power of theatre to incite cognitive change in the minds of its patrons. In the digital age, live performance stands as a pillar buttressing humanity’s capacity for sustained attention, challenging those who have dared to sit in a seat to consider deeply the ideas being persistently presented to them. The value of this cannot be overstated. And Toronto, a worldwide beacon of cultural and racial diversity, presents some of the most varied, surprising, and seminal ideas that can be seen from any theatre community in the world. Running on little more than passion and perseverance, the members of Toronto’s theatre community continue to push the medium to new heights. Nicholas is extremely proud to offer his time and opinion for a community that has given him so much, and that gives so much to so many others. Thanks for your time.
