Peter Fernandes is Toronto based performer and graduate of the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting Program and the Soulpepper Academy. Prior to his arrival in Toronto, his experience was primarily in Theatre For Young Audiences, where he toured the world premiere of The Last Tree of Rapa Nui with Manitoba Theatre for Young People and workshopped and toured multiple productions with Concrete Theatre and Alberta Worker’s Health Centre. Having spent three seasons at Soulpepper, he’s been involved with both the development and performance of a number of productions including the Dora Award winning Spoon River, Father Comes Home From the Wars (parts I, II, III), and Incident at Vichy to name a few. Soulpepper also gave him the opportunity to perform in their programming for young Audiences including the Western Canada Tour of Alligator Pie and concert production of Rose. Peter maintains his commitment to Theatre for Young Audiences, most recently playing the title role in MTYP’s Charlie Brown Double Bill, and taking mentorship roles at the various companies he works for (mentoring the Youth Academy at Soulpepper, Mentoring an Artistic Accomplice for Outside the March, and acting as an Instructor for Camp Ooch). He is looking forward to performing in Love and Information (Canadian Stage), Romeo and Juliet/Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare in High Park), and Vietgone (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre)
