Born in Havana, Cuba, Yuhala began her training at the age of 4 at the National School of Rhythmic Gymnastics. In 1997 she auditioned for the National School of Arts in Havana where she began her formal dance training. After 6 years of training she obtained her BFA in Dance as an Instructor/ Dancer. In 2002 she joined the Folklorico National of Cuba  where she spent three years sharing the stage with numerous recognized Cuban artists. In 2005 Miss.Garcia joined Ballet Creole’s Professional Training Program in Toronto and two years later was invited to join the Professional Company. As a senior company member of Ballet Creole she has had the opportunity to perform works from Patrick Parson, Gabby Kamino, Milton Myers, Danny Grossman, Zelma Badu, M’Bemba Bangoura, Jose Angel Carret and Debbie Wilson. Miss Garcia has also been the Assistant Director/ Administrator for Ballet Creole. In 2019, she opened her own organization called Desde d Heart where she connects traditions linked to the African- Caribbean Cultures in Cuba, through workshops, master classes and professional development trips to the island.
