Moving Words: Embodying Text
A 2-day deep dive into your theatre monologues, massaging impulse, authentic gesture, true connection, playfulness, abandon and honest storytelling.
Because no one loves preparing for their audition pieces at the kitchen table!
Moving Words: Embodying Text is a lab-like environment that cultivates connection between mind and body; engaging in dramaturgy and play, understanding and exploration, and encouraging a deep dive into action. It hones in on authentic relating, investigating what is honest and deeply nuanced.
For seasoned professionals and emerging artists alike!
Discover new work or experiment with an old favourite on kind, generative, and fertile ground.
Held at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre, this two-day workshop will leave the artist with a stronger relationship to their text, allowing for a more vulnerable, dynamic, and confident performance.
Participants are asked to dress comfortably, bring water, and prepare to move their bodies. Breaks will be taken often and accommodations made in service of anyone’s accessibility needs.
Welcome the New Year with this gift of an enlivened audition piece for yourself.
