New Story Productions Proudly Present
AUDITIONS for MOONLIGHT
A New Work by Armon Ghaeinizadeh
How do you heal? I heal in the Moonlight.
Moonlight is the hottest club in town that everyone is dying to get into. The dancers are hot, the music is hot, and the vibes are simply immaculate, but what happens when all of the smoke and mirror start to fade and all of the glass pieces start to shatter?
A dance heavy and movement based theatrical piece, Moonlight explores what queer joy and liberation looks and feels like through music, movement, and dance, while grappling with the various dancers own healing processes. It’s never dark forever, and even in the darkness, there is always still some moonlight.

The Dancers
Baby – any ethnicity, female, early 20s – baby has a pure heart and a lyrical / contemporary dance background, has trained in ballet, and is sweet but naive, having had her heart utterly broken and torn up, she has found her way into the moonlight nightclub.
Baddie – any ethnicity, any gender, 20s – 40s, a sexy and soulful character, sexually liberated, body positive, sex positive, and with a deep spark and fire that can’t be extinguished.

Bang Bang – Middle Eastern or SWANA, any gender / female, 20s – 40s, a dancer that is a large personality and liberated in their own way, but suffers from survivals guilt after living in the safety of North America while her family is actively being bombed, she dances to forget.
Steve – white male – early 20s-30s, has a strong dance background in jazz funk, hip hop, and contemporary. The bystander that managed to sneak his way into the club.
