Elderberry Productions is calling actors for a new play.  You are invited to join us for our first production.  Casting is open to all ethnicities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

UNDER THE RAINBOW

A queer comic fairytale for our times.

In nineteen-seventy-two, Roger and Matt meet in the waiting room of a scientist who treats homosexual deviants, with electric shocks to make them “normal”.  Often in life, we are not ready when the opportunity for love is presented.  Moe, with their own mysterious past, shows them what unconditional love might look like. Decades later, at a celebration, Roger gets a welcome surprise.

Content Warning: two scenes depicting assault and two to three minimally intimate scenes  (intimacy coordinator to assist).

Accessibility: Audition, rehearsal and theatre spaces are wheelchair accessible with the exception that the stage at the Alumnae involves three steps.

Show dates: May 12 – May 25

Venue: Alumnae Theatre, Mainstage

Rehearsals begin: Lead characters – late February /early March 2025, supporting characters biweekly  March, weekly April 2025 (or more often if actors available) . Rehearsals at downtown locations. Every effort will be made to accommodate selected actors’ schedules. An honorarium for the main roles will be paid, with a minimum amount guaranteed, that is not dependent on ticket sales.
