Front of House/Box Office Manager for 2025 Association of Acting Coaches & Educators Conference
The AACE Conference is a bi-annual education conference for acting coaches and educators to gather together, learn and build community. After our successful conference in 2023 we are looking for a motivated and fun Front of House/Box Office Manager to join the team in building our 2025 conference.

Compensation for Front of House/Box Office Manager:
This is a contract position commencing in April and running till the Conference date: July 19 & 20, 2025 in Toronto.
$21 – 23 per hour based on 115 hours = 2,415.00 – 2,645.00
Build phase 1: April to May = 30 hours
Build phase 2: FOH prep + in person conference dates = 85 hours
Services Provided:
- recreate registrations via Eventbrite and Google Forms (single ticket/passes/food orders, including promo codes, tiered pricing, donations, pay-it-forward; in-person and livestream/hybrid events)
- create, print and assemble FOH signage & personalized lanyards with mini schedules, wayfinding signage, room schedules for each space (distinct for each day), sponsor poster, large conference schedule signage
- secondary registration phase where attendees/organizers/workshop leaders selected specific workshops etc, taking room capacity into account to ensure courses were not overbooked
- communicate with attendees about selections, answer questions about ordering/booking process, handle Eventbrite refunds, etc
- create determined volunteer roles & duties, volunteer schedule, call for volunteers; recrute, train, supervise volunteers at the conference; secure volunteer incentives & perks
- liaise with vendors re: lunch orders
- along with other conference organizers, liaise with venue re: requirements for rooms & layout for lobby
- set out lunch catering for pick up each day
- venue maintenance and tidiness throughout conference (rooms checked and prepared before/after each event, confirming that workshop leaders had what they needed on site & rooms are set up as required, garbages changed consistently, washrooms tidied consistently)
- post-event survey via Google Forms (one for attendees, one for volunteer experience)
- post-event reconciliation support
Helpful Skills & Experience:
- event planning
- ticket sales/registrations/box office
- volunteer coordination
- front of house (theatre/events, not kitchens – although there might be some transferable skills!)
- conference/festival/large events as a staff member or volunteer (TIFF, hot docs, TO Fringe, SummerWorks, etc)
- strong professional writing skills
- strong proofreading/copy editing skills
- ability to stick to deadlines
- calm under pressure
- access to a vehicle (for lugging stuff around, picking up last minute items, etc)
- Google Forms, docs, sheets
- access to a pre-existing network of volunteers
