Ravensquill Productions is thrilled to announce auditions for an all female-identifying cast in a powerful new adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. This production will showcase a diverse range of female-identifying voices, reimagining this timeless story of censorship, societal control, and the power of knowledge.

Production Team:

  • Director: Gary Kohl
  • Assistant Director: Jordan Robertson-Reid
  • Stage Manager: Daniela Olmos

Character Descriptions:

  • Montag:  Our protagonist, a firefighter who begins questioning her role and beliefs. Strong and driven, she seeks truth in a world where curiosity is suppressed.
  • Black:  A young firefighter with less experience but committed to the job; they are a follower rather than a leader.
  • Holden: Similar in age and outlook to Black, Holden is another firefighter who conforms to the status quo.
  • Clarisse: Early 20s. A curious, intelligent student who disrupts Montag’s world. Clarisse has a unique perspective shaped by knowledge of truths most others ignore.
  • First and Second Paramedics: . Practical and detached, the paramedics perform their duties with little emotion, reflecting society’s indifference to human life.
  • Mildred: Montag’s partner for about a decade. Once curious, Mildred has embraced society’s shallow values and is deeply immersed in the escapism offered by screens.
  • Mrs. Hudson: An older character who holds onto the knowledge of the past. She’s passionate and opinionated, providing a fierce contrast to society’s passive citizens.
  • Faber: Clarisse’s grandmother and a former English professor who remembers the world before censorship. Though she hesitates to act, Faber’s wisdom and hidden courage make her a valuable ally for Montag.
  • Alice and Helen: Mildred’s neighbors and friends. They represent society’s detachment and emptiness, living without hope or purpose beyond conformity.
