REGISTRATION FOR ONE SONG GLORY IS NOW OPEN!

The Musical Stage Company is pleased to announce the Winter 2025 in-person program of ONE SONG GLORY, our flagship free youth arts training and education program.

If you have any young artists in your life between the ages of 13-19, please share this call for submissions with them!

ONE SONG GLORY is a fully subsidized four-weekend long youth musical theatre training intensive that builds community, self-confidence, and self-expression through a combination of new music creation, masterclasses, rehearsal, and a public showcase.

Our goal is to offer performing and non-performing participants a professional creation and rehearsal experience, insight about the industry, the chance to create new work, and the guidance to develop a fruitful career in the performing arts.

We are thrilled to offer the program once again in 2025, growing our community of young performers and non-performing artists, and giving students access to fully subsidized training led by the country’s leading musical artists.

We are proud to report that, to date, over 1,000 young Canadians have completed ONE SONG GLORY, without any cost to the participants. Past participants are now gracing international stages and Canadian concert halls including Broadway and the Stratford and Shaw Festivals.

With ONE SONG GLORY, youth will come together to train and create under the guidance of theatre professionals in a positive and encouraging environment.

INTENSIVE AUDITIONS & INTERVIEWS

In an effort to share the enriching qualities of the theatre with a wider cross-section of young people, we are actively seeking a balance of performing and non-performing artists for shadowing mentorships (choreographers, directors, stage managers, musicians and creative leaders, and other non-performance disciplines we may have missed). We want to hear from you!  Performing artists will be invited to audition, and non-performing artists will be invited to an interview where they can share their work with our team.

We are accepting submissions from young people between the ages of 13-19 in Toronto and the GTA. We are particularly interested in artists of all backgrounds, abilities, and ethnicities as we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion within this selection process. We especially encourage folks who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Gender Minorities, LGBTQ2S+, d/Deaf, Mad, Disabled/People with Disabilities, and/or Neurodiverse to submit.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Any young artist between the ages of 13-19 is invited to register for an audition or an interview by clicking this link by Wednesday, January 8th, 2025.

All participants who register are invited to attend either a group Audition Workshop or a group Interview Session.

  • In a group setting each performing artist can audition, and each non-performing artist will interview, while learning how to improve their presentation skills from a team of leading industry professionals. They will receive immediate individualized feedback, and the chance to apply what they learned through the workshop process.
  • If participants are unable to attend in person, we will arrange for a video submission. Please read more about how to submit your video by clicking this link.
  • Auditions will be conducted with ONE SONG GLORY Program Manager, Bryn Kennedy, and our teaching artists on Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th.

PLEASE NOTE: Early applications are preferred as ONE SONG GLORY audition/interview slots fill up quickly!

From the auditions and interviews, 30 performers and non-performing artists will be invited to join our free training intensive every Saturday from February 1-22, 2025, with final performances on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025. In groups, the participants will create brand new musical theatre scenes and songs under the guidance of top Canadian musical theatre artists.
