Amber Melhado is a graduate of the Arts Administration & Cultural Management post-graduate program at Humber College. The program highlights the inner workings of the not-for-profit sector, specifically within performing arts organizations. Prior to her time at Humber, Amber achieved a B.A. in English Literature at Carleton University. Throughout all levels of schooling, from primary through post-secondary, Amber has involved herself in theatre and other performing arts in varying capacities both professionally and on a volunteer basis. Her true passion lies with working to support artistic development through the broad spectrum of arts education. Participating in community theatre throughout her youth left an indelible impression on her, and it is what lead her to pursue a career in the not-for-profit arts and culture sector, specifically as an administrator for the same types of student programs she once so enjoyed. Amber is currently the Marketing & Outreach Coordinator for Esprit Orchestra, Canada’s only full scale professional orchestra devoted to promoting and performing new orchestral music. She creates and implements a detailed, robust Marketing plan for each concert season, and leads several education and mentoring programs geared toward students and emerging artists each season.
