Courtenay is an actor, circus performer and theatre creator. He trained at Studio 58 in Vancouver, the Stratford Conservatory and école Philippe Gaulier in France. He works frequently as a physical theatre performer and clown.
He’s performed across the country – Bard on the Beach, Stratford, Arts Club, MTC, NAC, Axis Mime, The Grand, Caravan and STC. He’s performed in Toronto with the COC, CanStage, Common Boots, Resurgence, 4th Line, Theatre Columbus, Theatre Gargantua, ARC and Modern Times.
He’s toured extensively with Cirque du Soleil (1000 performances 45 countries), the Overcoat for CanStage (6 countries) and continues to tour the silent, physical, solo show The Pianist (25+ countries). He has a passion for international theatre and sees as much as possible while on tour at festivals and otherwise.
