I am a director, theatre creator, arts administrator, and vocal coach, originally from Vancouver. I am passionate about work that engages with the metaphorical power of language and embraces the personal within the political. I am most interested in work that exposes us through curiosity and that nudges us to experiment with our own perceived stories. I am a recent member of the Soulpepper Academy, and a graduate of Studio 58. My studies have also included residences at the Centre Artistique International Roy Hart and The Banff Centre, and training at the Oxford School of Drama. My career has included devising and producing new work for festivals such as rEvolver and SummerWorks, as well as directing and assisting for companies like Common Boots Theatre,Soulpepper Theatre Company, Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Gateway Theatre, Rumble Theatre, Bard on the Beach, Belfry Theatre, and Theatre Replacement. In conjunction with my work as a director, my love of process has led me to teach voice and speech at the Vancouver Film School, The Art Institute of Vancouver, and Arts Umbrella, as well as coach for Bard on the Beach. Coming up this spring, I will direct Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen for Soulpepper Theatre Company.
