The Canadian Opera Company is hosting a Super Call to add more volunteers to their supernumerary roster.
What is a Supernumerary?
- Non-singing, non-speaking, acting/movement only roles.
- No previous acting experience required and you get to be a part of an opera production at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts!
What is the experience of a “super”? As a super, you:
- attend all rehearsals for which you are called;
- see and experience how mainstage opera companies rehearse and put together a professional opera;
- get to wear a costume;
- are directed by a professional opera director;
- get to take part in one of the COC’s mainstage opera productions!
Please note: Although supernumerary roles are volunteer roles, the COC offers a small honorarium to help cover transit.
Commitment
Supers–like all roles in a professional opera production–are important to the production and anyone interested in being a super must commit to and be available for the duration of the full rehearsal and performance schedule.
SUPER CALL INFORMATION
Date and Time: Thursday, November 21 (slots available between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.)
Location: Canadian Opera Company Theatre at 227 Front St. E.
What is involved in a Super Call?
There will be an opportunity to learn about being a super to see if this volunteer role is right for you. Sign-ups for the winter and spring season will also be available.
In addition, everyone will be measured so that we can have your information on file for potential future super opportunities.
If interested, please email Murphy Diggon at murphyd@coc.ca and include “COC Super Call” in the subject line.
Deadline to sign up: November 18, 2024
**Interested but not available Nov 21? No problem, send an email anyway!
