The Clark Centre for the Arts’ Artist Residency program provides professional Toronto artists with opportunities to think, experiment, work and create in an artistic lakeside yet urban environment.

Located inside Guild Park and Gardens, the Clark Centre for the Arts is a stunning new cultural facility that houses specialized art studios and gallery spaces that Toronto residents and visitors can enjoy year-round. The Centre provides rental opportunities and delivers close to 85 accessible arts programs annually, including art courses, workshops and talks. Guild Park and Gardens is a unique 88-acre site on the Scarborough Bluffs that includes forests, shoreline and a collection of architectural fragments, sculptures and buildings.

Applications are now being accepted for two artist-in-residence positions in 2025, concluding with a one-month exhibition in Gallery 191.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Artist Residency Program welcomes professional artists, culminating in a one month exhibition of the artist-in-resident’s work in Gallery 191.

There are two artist-in-residence opportunities:

  • Two residencies will be offered to professional artists during regular operating hours, from mid January to mid December, each to exhibit in Gallery 191 for one month

The residency offers a working environment that supports the artistic process. The artist will receive:

  • The use of an artist-in-residence studio space during operating hours, with a monthly schedule approved in advance by the site
  • Exhibition space in Gallery 191 at the Clark Centre for the Arts for one month in 2025
  • Promotion of the exhibition through established City of Toronto public relations channels
  • Five-hundred dollars in art supplies to go towards creating your Gallery 191 exhibition
  • An Honourarium to be provided
