Calling All Performers!
Education Arts Canada, a registered not-for-profit organization, is seeking passionate and talented performers with strong vocal and acting abilities, excellent comedic timing, and a commitment to teamwork and collaboration to join our cast for the upcoming 2024-2025 season! We work with thousands of teacher partners and community groups to bring more music and theatre into the lives of Canadian children. Our fun, interactive programs actively engage children and make them part of the experience.
About the Shows:
This season, we are seeking non-union performers to bring four exciting productions to schools and theatres, each with its own unique message:

Isaac Newton’s Excellent Adventure: A captivating journey through the world of science with the famous physicist.

MathJam Shape Caper: A fun-filled musical adventure exploring the world of shapes and numbers.

PigMania: A hilarious and heartwarming tale about friendship and acceptance.

Straight On Till Morning: A groundbreaking musical about mental health and one girl’s search for light in the darkness.
Audition Information:
Submission Deadline: August 7th, 11:59 PM EST
How to Submit:
Please submit the following materials to eac.cast.crew@gmail.com with the subject line “General Auditions – [Your Name]”:

A 16-32 bar (1-1:30 min) video recording of a Disney song or a song appropriate for children’s theatre.

An acting reel (optional). If you do not have an acting reel, please submit a one-minute family-friendly monologue.

Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
Please note that performances are exclusively on Weekdays sometime between 8am and 4 pm.

Isaac Newton’s Excellent Adventure: Rehearsals: October 24/25, 28-31, November 1st; Performances: November 4-8, 12-15, 18-22, 25-28

MathJam Shape Caper: Rehearsals: January 20-24, 27, 28; Performances: January 29-31, February 3-7, 10-13, 18-21, 24-26

PigMania: Rehearsals: March 6,7, 10-14, Tech 17-20; Performances: March 21, 25-28, 31, April 1-5, 7-11, 14-17, 22-25, 28-30

Straight On Till Morning: Rehearsals: April 28- May 2nd, 5,6; Performances: May 7-9, 12-16, 20-23, 26-30.
Compensation:
-
Rehearsals: $125 per day

Show Days: $100 per one show day, $160 per two show day (majority)
Selection Process:
We appreciate everyone who takes the time to submit an audition. Due to the high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
