Call to Choreographers: Here&Now Dance Festival

Aeris Körper is proud to present the second annual Here&Now Dance Festival in Hamilton, Ontario. This is a call for the Mainstage series.
Presentation Series Goals
Here&Now presents new works from choreographers and movement/performance-based artists at any career level and offers audiences the chance to experience the work of Canada’s most exciting up-and-coming choreographers in a vibrant and inviting environment. Entering it’s second year, Here&Now will feature a mixed program of three to four works as well as opportunities for audience talkbacks and Q&As. All choreographers and performing/collaborating artists are asked to stay for the duration of the evening in support of the other presented works. The format of the evening is subject to change based on the presenter’s needed.
Details
– Proposed choreography can be up to 5-25 minutes in length.
– Choreographers are paired with a dramaturg to support the development or further develop of the choreography. Selecting a dramaturg will be a collaborative process between the choreographer and Artistic Producer, Mayumi Lashbrook.
– Choreographers will provided with a lighting designer to support the lighting states of the choreography. The lighting tools are limited but the designer will work closely with the choreographer to execute their vision and goals to the best of our abilities.
We are so grateful to all the applicants and are continually amazed at the ideas, concepts and execution. Please know that while we would love to accept all who apply, due to budget and time constraints we are only able to accept four applications in Here&Now’s Mainstage series. In the event your are not accepted we recommend you ask for feedback on your application and re-apply in the future.
