The Two Gentleman of Verona is a Shakespeare play about friendship, love and forgiveness. This production is cut down to around 1 hour and has a queer love story. This production is seeking 7-8 actors:

Actor 1: Proteus (in 10 scenes) – 18-35, open ethnicity, any gender. He is a romantic, at the start of the play he’s madly in love with Julia then falls in love with his best friend’s (Valentine) girlfriend (Silvia).

Actor 2: Valentine (in 6 scenes, Already Casted)  – 18-35, open ethnicity, any gender. She is kind, ambitious, best friends with Proteus and in love with Silvia.

Actor 3: Julia (in 6 scenes) – 18-35, open ethnicity, any gender. She is headstrong, creative & in love with Proteus.

Actor 4: Silvia (in 5 scenes) – 18-35, open ethnicity, any gender. She is assertive, kind, the
Emperor’s daughter and in love with Valentine.

Actor 5: Emperor (in 5 scenes) – 18+, open ethnicity, any gender. The most powerful person in Verona but still can’t get his daughter Silvia to love Thurio.

Actor 6: Thurio (in 5 scenes) – 18-35, open
ethnicity, any gender. He is rich but still can’t buy Silvia’s love.

Actor 7: Lucetta (in 2 scenes) – 18+, open ethnicity, any gender; Julia’s mom. Outlaw 1 (in 2 scenes) – banished people who live in the forest.

Actor 8: Antonio (in 1 scene) – 18+, open ethnicity, any gender. He is Proteus’ father. Outlaw 2 (in 2 scenes) – banished people who live in the forest. Host (in 1 scene).

Actor 9: Pantanio (in 1 scene) – 18+, open ethnicity, any gender. Speed (in
2 scenes) – Valentine’s witty servant. Outlaw 3 (in 1 scene) – banished people who live in the forest.

Dates:
Table Read: October 14th 2024, will start before 2pm.
Rehearsals: in High Park (may change to a park that is closer to all actors). Call times for each actor will be on either Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from anytime between 10am-6pm (and will be dependent on how many scenes their in), starting from October 17th 2024 to November
18th 2024.
Run-through dates: Mon Nov 18, Wed Nov 20, Thrus Nov 21 2024
Tech Week dates: Mon Nov 25 & Tues Nov 26 2024
Show dates (evening): Fri Nov 29, Sat Nov 30, Sun Dec 1 2024

Pay: Volunteer/Profit-Share

How to audition: 

Email NewBroodProductions@gmail.com with a current photo of yourself, your resume, your rehearsal availability. For your audition you will need to prepare any 1 minute to 90 second Shakespeare monologue

For In-Person: Email to receive audition times and the location for October 8th and October 9th. Walk-ins and scheduled auditions are both welcome. 

For Zoom: Email to book a time slot for October 6th (evening) or October 7th.

For Self Tape: Due 11:59pm on Wednesday October 9th.
