Fascinated by music, art and technology ever since breaking his parent’s radio in Bucharest at the tender age of six, Catalin has a tenure spanning over three decades as a performer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and music-supervisor for Canadian film and television (credits include Trailer Park Boys, Fresh TV series, and several independent Canadian films with notable talent including Nicholas Campbell, Maria del Mar and Heather Graham). As a producer with mad technical skills in electronic, neo-classical and genre bending composition Cat is immersed in the ultra-demanding environment of music for advertising in Toronto, New York, London, and Amsterdam, where he scored dozens of global campaigns awarded in multiple categories. With a post graduate degree in Applied Psychology and Education from University of Toronto, Cat has developed and taught workshops in Creativity, Audio Practice and ‘Music to Picture’ at the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (O.I.A.R.T.) and presented as an expert speaker at multiple creative agencies such as Craft Global, Publicis, Juniper Park and Taxi. As an avid entrepreneur, Cat co-founded Hook Interactive Inc., a company that developed IP for online music discovery and licensing technology, with Pirate Group partners Terry O’Riley (CBC host, Under the Influence) Chris Tait (Chalk Circle) and Tom Eymundson (Pirate Group CEO) where he raised over one million dollars in seed and startup capital. Cat is a member of ACTRA, SOCAN, AFM and Screen Composers Guild of Canada.
