Oedipus Goes West
Written by Avi Kleinman
Dramaturge: Cass Aalbers-Davey
The year is 1859. Outlaw Ed Twist is visited by his future self, who delivers a dire warning: don’t go west. In forty years he will have family, fortune, fame—but none of it is worth the price. Intrigued by what his future holds, Ed leaves for California the next day, convinced he can change his future for the better. He knows what will happen. He won’t make the same mistakes. He will find the love of his life, strike gold, and start anew in a land of endless opportunities.
And yet—wherever he goes—fate follows.
Told in three non-chronological eras, Oedipus Goes West is a medley of genre, time, and tragedy.

Book of Magdalene
Written by Valentine Legar
Dramaturge: Nina Katz
Book of Magdalene is a solo performance that reimagines Mary Magdalene as a butch person. Three days after the death of their best friend, they subside in a cave reflecting on their relationship to the world around them and the myriad of biblical characters that they’ve come into contact with, and attempt to navigate their grief.
