Annie Luján (she/her) is a Latinx-Canadian actor, clown and theatre creator. Most recently, she was a member of the 2022 Soulpepper Academy where she made her Soulpepper debut and created her first solo clown show Gasoline. In 2019, Annie was selected to be part of Outside the March’s Artistic Accomplice Program which allowed her time to develop her passion for immersive experiences and assist on The Tape Escape (2019) and The Flick (2019). Annie is the recipient of The Canada Council’s 2021 Research and Creation Grant which gave her the opportunity to train extensively in clown, create her own work and develop her artistic voice. Having performed in a schoolhouse in the UK, a storefront window in Parkdale and on her street dressed as a giant raccoon, among other strange spaces, she appreciates work that engages an audience’s sense of play and invites them into a surprising theatrical world. Her work often incorporates various styles of physicality, an appreciation for comedy within more dramatic themes and a desire for heightened presence with live audiences.

Her recent credits include: King Lear (Soulpepper), Peggy Pickett Sees the Face of God (Soulpepper), Last Landscapes (Workshop, Bad New Days), A Grimm Night (Immersive Theatre Creator/Dramaturg, Transcendance Theatre).

Annie Luján is a graduate of Concordia University’s Theatre Performance BFA.
